Zona Louise Sentman, age 91, of Nashville and formerly a longtime resident of Elwood, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at Brown County Health & Living Community following a brief illness. She also formerly lived at Bell Trace Senior Living Community in Bloomington for 6 years. She was born October 2, 1921 in Benton County, Indiana the daughter of Herman and Julia (Mayfield) Hausz. She was a dedicated homemaker and also formerly worked at the P.R. Mallory Company in Elwood and Farnsworth Radio Company in Marion. She married George R. Sentman on October 5, 1946. Zona formerly attended the Nazarene Church in Elwood where she was the church pianist, and more recently attended the Main Street Wesleyan Church in Elwood. She was a volunteer at the Mercy Hospital gift shop. Her family has fond memories of her canning vegetables and freezing fruit. Zona enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, and crafts. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing games - especially Rook and Dominoes.
Zona's life is remembered, honored, and celebrated by her family which includes 4 children, Connie (husband Jim) Osborn of Ft. Worth, TX, Ron (wife Pam) Sentman of Indianapolis, Jerry Sentman of Indianapolis, and Marsha (husband Calvin) Hite of Bloomington; 5 grandchildren, Julie (husband Darrel) Cook, Kimberly (husband Ed) Nieves, Melissa Osborn, Andrew Hite, and Bethany Hite; 2 great-grandchildren, Allison Cook and E.J. Nieves, a great-granddaughter expected in 2013; nephew, Dr. Norman G. Wilson; and 2 nieces, Pam Conley and Barbara Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years who died March 3, 2008, George R. Sentman; and sister, Bernetta Wilson.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, 415 South Anderson Street, Elwood with Dr. Norman G. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
