Obituary

Wilmetta "Billie" Olive F. McKinley, age 86 of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Muncie following a long, well-lived life.  She was born April 25, 1931 in Elwood, the daughter of William O. and Nellie (Davis) Flowers.  Billie worked as a sales clerk for Big Wheel and Daum's stores in Connersville for 38 years, and she retired in 2014.  She married Marion R. McKinley on June 23, 1982, and he passed away in 1989.  She grew up attending the First Nazarene Church in Elwood.  Throughout her life, Billie had a strong Christian faith, always attending a church nearby her home.  Billie enjoyed embroidering and cross-stitching.  She also loved listening to music, especially old country hymns.  Billie's favorite country artist was Ray Price, who she was proud to have met two times.  She was known for crocheting all of her family baby blankets.  More than anything, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to care for her family in every possible way.

Billie's family includes 3 daughters, Sandy (husband Bill) England of Anderson, Patsy (husband Steve) Bemish of Alexandria, and Robin Hendry (Lloyd Ailes) of Connersville; sister, Dorothy Shepard of Atlanta; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Miller, Amy Keesling, and Matt Keesling; 6 great-grandchildren, Adrianna Reece, Kayden Reece, Katie Grace Miller, Chase Miller, Devon Miller, and Seth Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion R. McKinley; 2 brothers, Wayne Oliver Flowers and Charles Flowers; 2 sisters, Alice Rittenhouse and Mary Burton; infant sister, Lora Flowers; son, Michael Quesinberry; and grandson, Dean Edward Keesling II.

A funeral service celebrating Billie's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Matt Mehlhoff of the First Nazarene Church in Elwood, officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
