Obituary

William E. "Bill" Anderson, age 86 of Frankton, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. He was born October 31, 1928 in Elwood, the son of Fay B. and Farel (Edgell) Anderson. Bill was a 1948 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and later served in United States Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1993 from Delco Remy Corporation in Anderson where he worked for more than 27 ½ years in production and as a forklift operator. He married Flora "Flo" Harper on December 24, 1956 and they shared almost 58 years together. Bill formerly attended the Frankton First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Elwood V.F.W., the Frankton American Legion, and the Elwood Elks Lodge. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame Football. Bill enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 mile race; working in his yard; taking care of birds; and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Bill's family includes his wife of nearly 58 years, Flora L. "Flo" Anderson of Frankton; daughter, Marianne (husband Jay) Whitaker of Anderson; 2 step-children; brother, Joseph A. "Joe" Anderson of Bradenton, FL; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 nieces; a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnn & James E. "Eddie" Geis; and sister-in-law, Juanita Anderson.

A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2014
at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Gary Elsten of the Frankton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the K of P & I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Military and Elwood V.F.W. at the cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, December 22, 2014 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
