William S. "Bill" Daleure , age 90 of Elwood, IN passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY surrounded by his family. He was born March 4, 1936 in Vordonia, Sparta, Greece, the son of Spero and Georgia Daliouris. Bill came to the U.S. in 1956 in pursuit of opportunity, working alongside his uncles at Mangas Cafeteria. Through hard work, determination, and a deep sense of family, he built a life that reflected his heritage and the American dream.
Bill retired from Public Service Indiana (Duke Energy) and was the proud owner of several local establishments including Olympic Cafeteria, Bill's Drive-In, and the Nick Nack Shop. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Order of AHEPA. Bill's greatest joy was time spent with his family and friends. He loved gardening and cooking and regularly followed the stock market. Bill especially enjoyed conversations over coffee at McDonald's or discussing current events, news, and politics. He also enjoyed watching classic westerns, "Sanford and Son", and "The Jeffersons". Bill will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, lively conversations, and the impact he made on all who knew and loved him.
Bill's beloved family includes 3 children, Georgia Daleure of Bowling Green, KY, Spero Daleure of Elwood, IN, and Ellaine Thornberry of Bowling Green, KY; 11 grandchildren, Ashlee (Ben) Bond, Aattika Davis, Josh (Holly) Daleure, Mya (Dustin) Mustafa, Kamry Dimas, Nafisa ElMahdy, Noah (Caroline) Thornberry, and Suhaib, Genaan, Bir, and Amanah AlTabaa; 10 great-grandchildren, Clayton Rodriguez, Giselle Jemerson, Becky Patton, Ethan Villenueva, Maddie Davis, Maddie Patton, Miklo Dimas, Marcus Dimas, Cecelia Bond, and Baby Thornberry expected in 2026; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Drake, Mikayla, and Jeremy Bond; a great-great-grandson, Jackie Lee Mort; and step- great-great-grandson, JJ Bond. He is also survived by his brother, Theodore Daliouris of Vordonia, Greece; former spouse, Diana (Gerard) Hildebrand of Boonesville, IN; a goddaughter, Vickie Kolias of Las Vegas, NV; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings, Constantinos Daliouris, Stanley Dalury, Marika Kakokefalou, and Liberty Dalury.
A funeral service celebrating Bill's life and legacy will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Father Gregory Hohnholt of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Carmel, officiating. Burial will take place privately in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 pm prior to the funeral on Friday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
