William C. "Bill" Waymire , age 74 of Elwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a member of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood and was involved in the Heartland Great Banquet. Bill especially loved volunteering on numerous mission trips, both in the U.S. and in other countries. He won numerous truck pulls with his truck nicknamed "Hurryin Hoosier" and in 1989 was the Hoosier State Points Champion. In 1990 he won Hoosier State Points Champion again, but with his son Shane driving. Bill traveled the country and Canada for several years in truck pulling competitions and won 2 nd place title in the nation in the Pro-National Series. He and Kathy also enjoyed spending winter months in Ruskin, Florida for many years. Bill will be greatly missed, but his family finds comfort knowing he is safely home in Heaven.
