Obituary

Veatrice K. "Kate" Reynolds, age 88 of Elwood died Friday September 9, 2011 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood after a brief illness. She was born August 8, 1923 in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Edgar A. and Hester T. (Dillman) Campbell. She married Edwin B. "Bill" Reynolds on November 29, 1941. She was a homemaker most of her life. Kate formerly enjoyed square dancing and hosting square dance parties, and especially enjoyed sewing her own dance dresses. She also enjoyed politics, working jigsaw puzzles, cooking for her family, and camping. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: Daughter – Sandra S. and husband Larry Patton of Sharpsville; Son – George M. and wife Rita Reynolds of Elwood; 5 Brothers – Merrell Campbell of Greentown, Darrell Campbell of Kokomo, Victor Campbell of Kokomo, Larry Campbell, and Jeffery Campbell of Kokomo; 4 Sisters – Maxine Pyke of Kokomo, Mary Lou Harmon of Kokomo, Barbara Eads of Greentown, and Phyllis Chappell of Noblesville; 6 Grandchildren – Stephen "Mick" Reynolds, Brad Reynolds, Paul Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Leslie Harley, Donna Shepley; 5 Great-Grandchildren – Clint Reynolds, Dillon Reynolds, Jack Reynolds, Miley Reynolds, and Lucy Shuherk; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: Parents; Husband who died November 27, 1998 – Edwin B. "Bill" Reynolds; Son – Edwin Stephen Reynolds; Twin Siblings – Betty Jean Campbell, and Ray Keith Campbell; 2 Brothers – Edgar Campbell, Jr., and Jack Campbell; Granddaughter – Laura Patton; and a Great-Grandson – Sammy Harley.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with the Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2011 prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
