Ty Anthony
W. Mccool
Nov 23, 1987 — Oct 21, 2024
Ty Anthony W. McCool , age 36 of Summitville, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at home after battling seizures for many years. He was born Nov. 23, 1987 in Elwood, the son of Tonya Kay (McCool) Mitchell. He attended Anderson Schools and Highland High School. Ty worked in restaurants for several years before suffering a severe brain injury as a result of a car accident. Despite his challenges with seizures, Ty always maintained a positive attitude, was friendly with everyone he met, and was always willing to help others.
Ty was a person who enjoyed the simple things of life. He liked watching Indianapolis Colts football, playing euchre, listening to music, and looking at Facebook. Ty loved family gatherings and holiday dinners at his grandparents' house, and especially enjoyed spending time with his brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews. In recent years, he was also a devoted caregiver for his beloved mother, Tonya. Ty's family is comforted knowing that he had recently confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, and although very unexpected, he has gone swiftly to his Heavenly home.
"Perhaps my time seemed all too brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me; God wanted me now – He set me free." (from "I'm Free")
Ty's family includes his mother, Tonya Mitchell of Summitville; 3 siblings, Tiffany Smith of Elwood, Robert Moore, III of Elwood, and Dustin (Rebekah) Moore of Evansville; grandfather, Paul (Joyce) McCool of Elwood; uncles, Rod McCool of Elwood and Keith "Skip" McCool of Florida; aunt, Sonya (Corey) May of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews. Ty was preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda McCool and sister-in-law, Linda Stephens-Moore.
A funeral service celebrating Ty's life will be held on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Matthew Seibel of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am to 1 pm prior to the funeral on Monday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
