Obituary

Trudy L. Garrison, age 61 of rural Frankton, died October 27, 2011 at St. John's Hospital in Anderson after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 25, 1950 in Mora, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Norma (Moline) Brockner. Trudy attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse in Knife Lake Township north of Mora, Minnesota; and later graduated from Mora High School in 1968. She moved to Indiana in 1989 and later married Russell Garrison on February 7, 1999. Trudy's family was very important to her, and she communicated with family members through phone calls and hand-written letters. Trudy loved to garden, cook, sew, and give her husband Russell, a hard time; and he gave it right back to her in fun. Trudy loved life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Trudy leaves behind her soul mate, Russell Garrison of Frankton who was a loving and caring husband and loyal friend for 22 years. Trudy is also survived by her Son - Gordon (Kelly) Mitchell of Ogilvie MN; Daughter – Dawn (Dusty) Heald of Ogilvie, MN; 5 Brothers – Greg (LuAnn) Brockner of Mora, MN, Larry Brockner of Mora, MN, Michael (Cathy) Brockner of Mora, MN, Joey Brockner of Mora, MN, Bob Brockner of Mora MN: 2 Sisters – Vicki (Michael) Plumley of Mora, MN, Mary (Richard) Heding of Elk River, MN; 5 Grandchildren – Britany, Kirk, Collin, Bailey and Tanner all of Mora, MN; Step-mother – Carol Brockner of Cambridge, MN; Step-father – Kenneth Olson of Mora, MN; Nieces and Nephews – Angie, Christine, Sarah, Sheila, Nichole, Riley, Jackie, Charity, Megan, Lexie, Justin, Steven, Brian, Michael Brockner Jr., Nathan, Michael Plumley Jr, Jessie, Chad, and Kevin; and special friends – Mark and Cindy Schott.

She was preceded in death by Parents – Joseph and Norma (Moline) Brockner; Brother – Benjamin John Brockner; and Foster Parents – Stanley & Ruth Soderstrom.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) through the funeral home.
