Obituary

Tommy Lee Musick , age 71 of Alexandria, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson.  He was born November 6, 1947 in Anderson, the son of Billy E. Musick and Nina B. (Buck) Pace.  He was a 1966 graduate of Highland High School in Anderson, where he was an accomplished athlete, and later went on to serve in the United States Army during Vietnam.  Tommy married the love of his life, Diana Lynn Wittkamper on November 25, 1972 and shared 46 years of marriage together.  After serving in the Army, Tommy went to work for General Motors in Anderson as a machine repairman for 30 years, until he retired in 1997.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Alexandria and the American Legion in Alexandria.  Tommy loved to be on the water fishing and boating, both at the lake or the beach.  He loved the many memorable trips with his family to popular vacation spots.  After retirement, you could typically find Tommy on his front porch in his rocking chair with his dog "Mikee", taking care of the "neighborhood watch".  He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in all of their sports.  More than anything, Tommy loved being with his family; he was a loving, supportive husband, father and grandfather.

Tommy's family includes his wife, Diana Musick of Alexandria; 3 children, Christie L. (husband Jeff) Mason of Lapel, Misty M. (husband Jason) Bynum of Anderson and Dustin (wife Brook) Musick of Gaston; 2 brothers, Ronald E. (wife Judy) Musick of Anderson and Gary (wife Laraine) Musick of Rome City; sister, Cathy (husband Denny) Cooper of Markleville; 8 grandchildren, Keegan Stewart, Kole Stewart, Tremor Bynum, Gator Bynum, Evan Pierce, Ryder Mason, Drake Moss and Alexis Hart; and several nieces and nephews.  Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life in honor of Tommy will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2019 at The Crystal Coop in Anderson by the family.  Military honors in honor of Tommy's service in the Army will take place at 6:00 pm.   Copher-Fesler-May has been entrusted to care for Tommy's cremation arrangements.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
