Obituary

Tina L. Taylor, age 56 of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Hopsital in Elwood following a very sudden illness.  She was born February 9, 1962 in Elwood, the daughter of Errol and Janet (Copus) Simpson.  Tina was a 1980 graduate of Elwood Community High School, and later took nursing courses to obtain her CNA license.  She married James C. Taylor on October 5, 1996, and spent over 21 years of marriage together.  Tina currently worked for Community Parkview Health and Living in Elwood as a housekeeper, and she previously worked as a CNA at numerous facilities for over 20 years.  She was baptized into the Christian faith in August of 1999 and was known for having a very strong faith.  Tina loved to read and write poems and was extremely artistic.  She was an excellent cook - specializing in fried chicken, and she always loved to have her family over for a homemade dinner.  Tina especially liked to play games and keep in touch with family and friends on the computer.  She thought the world of her grandchildren and loved to be involved in their lives.  More than anything, Tina will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Tina's family includes her husband, James Taylor of Elwood; 4 children, Brandon (husband Carl) Martin of Elwood, Amy (husband Terry) Everling of Lafayette, Candice McGuire of Elwood, and Josh Taylor of Elwood; 3 sisters, Tammy (husband Tony) Hampton of Elwood, Linda (husband Doug) Hartwell of Summitville, and Ruby (husband Vic) Hasstedt of Mooresvillle; brother, Rick (wife Pam) Simpson of Alexandria; 10 grandchildren, August, Adrienne, Alex, Caleb, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Noah, Dylan, Allison, and Hunter; special aunt, Aloma Colbert of Marion; mother-in-law, Linda Taylor of Noblesville; beloved dog, "Sadie"; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews.  Tina was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Pearl Copus, Delbert Simpson, and Thelma Simpson; step-grandmother, Ruby Simpson; aunt, Janice Beeman; and father-in-law, Gayle Taylor.

A funeral service celebrating Tina's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev.
