Tina Marie Ferguson , age 66 of Elwood, and formerly of Sturgis, Michigan, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood with her three children by her side following a brief illness.  She was born August 31, 1957 in Tipton the daughter of Vera (Gardner) McCormick.  She married the love of her life, Specialist Bart Anthony Ferguson on October 24, 1994 and they shared 26 years of marriage together until his passing in 2020.  Tina was a simple woman who didn't need or want much in life besides her family and their happiness.  Those who truly knew Tina, knew not to ever mess with her kids or grandchildren or she would come out swinging.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her 3 children, Robert Cunningham (Sheila Stienbarger), Michael Cunningham (Natasha  Everling) of Tipton, and her baby girl, Kathy Jo Cunningham (Shane Kelly) of Elwood; 10 grandchildren, Holden Cunningham (Alexis Hufnagle), Baily Cunningham (Hana Greene), Jagger Cunningham, Ethan Cunningham (Briana Deckard), Emma Cunningham (Garret Taylor), Jaxon Cunningham, BreAnna Bryan (Isaiah Parker), Joshua Bryan, Aaron Bryan, and Lacy Bryan; 3 great-grandchildren, Nova Lee Cunningham, Novaleigh Hufnagle, and Joleigh Ruth Marie Cunningham; one great-grandchild on the way; two women she considered her adopted children, Deb Cunningham of Elwood, and Danielle Mathiak of Kokomo; life-long best friend, Maggie Holderman of Elwood; Tina was one of many siblings who are scattered throughout the world.  Her closest ties being Michael Pete, Tony Pete, and Linda Walker; and an endless number of nieces and nephews.

Tina is reunited in heaven with her mother, Vera McCormick; her dad, Joe Walker; sister, Tonya Gmurk; fur babies, Bigsby and Rinny; and the absolute love of her life, Spc. Bart Ferguson.

A funeral service celebrating Tina's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024 prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
