Timothy L. Masters, age 61 of Cicero and formerly of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following complications from diabetes. He was born August 18, 1953 in Elwood, one of twin sons of Robert L. and Mary Maxine (Marley) Masters. Tim retired from Delphi Division of General Motors in Kokomo in 2006 after 31 years in production and repair. He was raised in the First Baptist Church in Elwood, and graduated in 1973 from Tipton High School. He married the love of his life, Barbara E. Hannah, on May 5, 1979. Tim was proud to be the 1967 Soapbox Derby Champion in Kokomo, and continued his participation for many years as an adult. He was a member of the U.A.W. #292 in Kokomo, and was an avid football fan – especially Tipton Football, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and Notre Dame. He also collected lighthouses and clipper ship memorabilia; and especially enjoyed boating and water skiing. More than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Tim's family includes his wife of nearly 36 years, Barbara E. Masters of Cicero; daughter, Sarah Gorden of Cicero; son, Kevin Masters and partner, Dan Youngman, both of Indianapolis; brother, Roger (wife Mona) Masters of Cicero; twin brother, Tom Masters of Elwood; 2 grandchildren, Timothy Aizik Gorden and Emma Grace Gorden; beloved dog, Bandit; mother-in-law, Mary Hannah of Elwood; and in-laws, Kathy (Ben) Jones of Elwood, Phyllis (Greg) Butcher and Charlene (Gary) Cravens all of Ohio, and Neal (Veronica) Hannah of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Wayne Marley and Inez Marley.
