Timothy King "Tim" Leeson , age 71 of Elwood, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at Ascension / St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after numerous health challenges.  He was born Sept. 12, 1952 in Elwood, the son of David K. and Marian "Mitzi" (Ludtke) Leeson-Hood.  Tim was a 1970 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood before his college education was completed with Ball State University and Indiana University (IUPUI) graduating with distinction.  He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Accounting.

Growing up in the Leeson family, Tim worked with his family's business – R.L. Leeson's Department Store in various departments, serving on the board of directors, and as the co-manager of the store.  After the store closed, he worked in the tax department as Senior Lead CPA at Ford, Brinkerhoff & Koehler in Indianapolis.  Later, he also worked as a financial officer at Shepard Tool Co. in Elwood before retiring in 2010 from CB Services & Investments in Cicero as a financial manager and CPA.

Tim was blessed with a heart transplant and kidney transplant one day later in 2016, and he was truly grateful for several years of improvement in his health.  Tim was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Elwood as well as St. James Lutheran Church in Greenfield.  He was very passionate about reading and had a sizeable collection of books.  Tim was also interested in politics, watching Indiana Pacers basketball, visiting Disney World, and bowled on several leagues at Lucky Strike Lanes for many years.  He will be dearly missed by all his family who loved him very much.  Tim's challenges with health and dialysis have ended, and he has been made perfect again in Heaven.

Tim's family includes his daughter, Erin Leeson of Elwood; 4 siblings, Jon (Karen) Leeson of Elwood, Becky Hibst of Elwood (former husband Tim), Matthew (Melanie) Leeson of Elwood, and Andrew Leeson of Paoli; granddaughter, Chloe Woodard; former step-son, Robert Locke; former spouses, Debbie (Darrell) Hobbs and Penny Leeson; and several nieces and nephews.  Tim was preceded in death by both his parents; step-father, Chuck Hood; and nephew, Kyle Hibst.

A funeral service celebrating Tim's life will be held at 4 pm on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 4 pm prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date in Elwood City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
