Timothy J. Graham, age 53 of Elwood, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born October 25, 1959 in Elwood, the son of Lee and Norma Jean (Blackford) Graham. Tim was self-employed most of his life owning and operating Graham Excavating and took great pride in his customers and his business. He also formerly worked at Wickes Lumber and Ex-Cello Corporation in Elwood. He retired in 2011 to raise his grandsons, Trayton and Mason. He was a 1978 graduate of Elwood Community High School. Tim married Pamela J. Ashley on March 24, 1979. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in his yard and gardening. He was known for growing wonderful vegetables. He loved tinkering and fixing things, and was known for being able to fix anything. He was a member of East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood. Tim was very devoted to his family and grandchildren. He and his family enjoyed vacationing and will always have wonderful memories of their time traveling.
Tim's family includes his wife of more than 34 years, Pamela J. Graham of Elwood; son, Clint (wife Heather) Graham of Alexandria; 3 brothers, Ed Graham of Anderson, Dan (wife Shirley) Graham of Elwood, and Rick (wife Annie) Graham of Elwood; 3 grandchildren, Trayton Matthew Bingham of Elwood, Mason Lee Bingham of Elwood, and Kellen Timothy Graham of Alexandria; step-granddaughter, Trista Lynn Bingham of Elwood; several aunts, uncles, many special nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kara J. McPhearson who died in 2012; sister, Sherry Carazales; and special brother-in-law, Frank Ashley of Illinois.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Sue Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the funeral home.
