Thomas Anthony Stanley, age 30 of Sedalia and formerly of Greentown, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. Tom was born on May 30, 1985 in Winchester, the son of Jennifer L. (Schwer) Tackett and Bradley A. Stanley. He was the Branch Manager of Duncan Supply Company in Lafayette for the past 12 years, and enjoyed his work. Tom was a 2003 graduate of Eastern High School in Greentown, and stayed close to his graduating class of friends. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends who were like family to him; and loved spending time on his grandparent's farm. He also enjoyed traveling; playing Bid Euchre almost every day; and was an avid sports fan – especially the Indianapolis Colts and the Ohio State Buckeye's. Tom will be remembered as being devoted to his family and his friends. His friends were always there for him; and he was always there for his friends. He will be sadly missed, but always remembered by everyone who knew him.
Tom's family includes mother, Jennifer L. (husband Greg) Tackett of Elwood; father, Bradley A. (wife Teri) Stanley of Florida; sister, Alexandra "Xanny" (husband Chad) Collier of Fallon, NV; 3 brothers, Clayton, Christian, and Cameron Tackett all of Elwood; step brother, A.J. (Ashli) Billiter and children Harmoney and Auziah; 2 step sisters, Lacy Billiter and son Lucas, and Samantha (Dustin) McClain and son Eli and a child expected in 2015; maternal grandparents, Bob & Eliza Schwer of Windsor; paternal grandparents, Dale & Janet Stanley of Selma; maternal uncle, Greg (wife Rita) Schwer and their children, Cheryl & Sarah Schwer all of Sidney, OH; paternal uncles and aunt, Darrin (Heather) Stanley and family, Mike (Cherrie) Stanley and family, and Laine (Bret) Elam and family all of the Muncie area; extended family members, Brant Roush, Blake & Vanessa Zook and children Audrey and Ada, Tory & Rachel Hueston, Shawn & Stephanie Rosa and son Silas, Nick & Alasha Koziel and children Maddalyn & Isaac, Krissy & Brad Dean, Zach & Rosie Young, and Josh & Kelly Price. Tom was preceded in death by a cousin, Christopher Schwer.
A funeral service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christopher Schwer Memorial Scholarship Fund, WVU Foundation through the funeral home.
