Obituary

Thomas L. "Tom" Masters , age 71 of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home. He was born August 18, 1953 in Elwood, the son of Robert L. and Mary Maxine (Marley) Masters.  Tom was a 1973 graduate of Tipton High School.  Following graduation, he began working for General Motors, and retired from the Delphi Division in Kokomo in 2006 after 33 years in production.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, boating with his family, and gardening.  Tom especially liked to take long drives in his truck with his dog through the country, stopping along the way to feed livestock.  Tom had a huge soft spot in his heart for all types of animals.  He also liked to go camping at the lake and spend as much time as he could on the water with his sons.  Tom enjoyed the simple things of life, and he cherished the time he spent with all his family.  More than anything, Tom will be remembered as a fun-loving dad, devoted papaw, and brother.  He will never be forgotten.

Tom's family includes 3 sons, Robert (Kallie) Masters of Texas, Brian (Kelly) Masters of Whitestown, and Stephen (Amy) Masters of Anderson; bonus daughter, Amy Halton of Hobbs; 9 grandchildren, Jacob, Katelyn, Kynlee, Greyson, Reagan, Riley, Reese, Nolan, and Nora; brother, Roger (Mona) Masters of Cicero; sister-in-law, Barbara Masters of Cicero; 2 nieces, Natalie (Paul) Dibner and Sarah Masters; and nephew, Kevin Masters.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Timothy Masters; and significant other, Dee Kleyla.

A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ronald Marcoux of Edwardsville United Methodist Church officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Burial will take place at a later date in Sunset Cemetery in Elwood.  Honoring Tom's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
