Thomas A. Davis, Jr., age 75 of Claypool and former longtime resident of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Kosciusko Community Hospital following an extended illness. He was born December 21, 1939 in Dunbar, West Virginia the son of Thomas A. and Elizabeth (McCallum) Davis, Sr. He worked for Delco Remy Corporation (Delphi) as a tool maker in skilled trades from 1962 to 1999, and retired after 37 years of service. He was a 1958 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and later served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Tom married Sharon K. Hasecuster on December 24, 1960, and they shared more than 54 years together. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Elwood Elks Lodge # 368, and the U.A.W. #662. Tom was a Past Patron of the Elwood Order of Eastern Star and a devoted member of the Masonic Order. He was a Past Master and a 50-year member of the Quincy Lodge #230; a 32nd Degree Mason; member of the Order of the Purple Cross; Past Governor of Indiana #55 York Rite College; Past Prior of Indiana Priory #8; member of the Pokagon Council 147 Allied Degrees; Past Illustrious Master of Council of Cryptic Masons; and Past Eminent Commander of the Knights Templar. He was also Past High Priest a of Royal Arch Chapter; and served as a Grand Lecturer, Grand Chaplin, and Grand Master of a Veil for the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons. Tom enjoyed woodworking, fishing, formerly hunting, and was well-known for having a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Davis of Claypool; 3 sons, Jeff (wife Julie) Davis of Noblesville, Todd Davis of Elwood, and Chris Davis of Elwood; sister, Patricia Ann Robertson of Atlanta; 3 brothers, James R. (wife Jeri) Davis of Huntington, Mark A. Davis of Elwood, and Philip E. (wife Brenda) Davis of Elkhart; 5 grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Robert Davis, Allison Davis, Tyler (wife Brittanie) Davis, and Kaylie (husband Casey) Llewellyn; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sarah Gerber, Gavin Davis, and Parker Armstrong (expected this month).
A funeral service celebrating Tom's life will be conducted on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 11 AM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery and include military honors by the U.S. Military and the Elwood V.F.W. honor guard. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. An Order of Eastern Star memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM followed by a Masonic Lodge memorial service both on Wednesday evening at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
