Terry E. Sullivan, age 63 of Elwood, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on September 17, 1950 in Scottsville, KY, the son of Curtis L. Sullivan and Lee (Kennedy) Stacey. He worked in the Tool & Die Department at Kennedy Machine Company in Alexandria and retired in 2009. He was also formerly a mechanic at Western Auto in Elwood. Terry was a 1969 graduate of Wendell Willkie High School and later served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1971. Terry was Past Worshipful Master of the Quincy Masonic Lodge #230 in Elwood. He married Kathleen "Joyce" Hoover on July 10, 1999. He loved fishing, camping, tinkering with and fixing things; and especially loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also an avid Colts fan. The family wishes to thank the staff of Southern Care Hospice - Michelle, Rita, Jim, Lisa, and Corby for the excellent care they provided for Terry.
Terry's family includes his wife Kathleen "Joyce" Sullivan of Elwood; mother, Lee Stacey of Alexandria; 8 children, Katreena (husband Danny) Shirey of Atlanta, Eric (wife Amy) Sullivan of Elwood, Brian (wife Kris) Haskett of Sevierville, TN, Tina Haskett of Elwood, Richard (wife Heather) Haskett of Indianapolis, Mike Haskett (companion Diane Graham) of Elwood, Robert Hobbs of Elwood, and Samuel Hobbs (girlfriend Megan) of Elwood; brother, Ted Sullivan of Sharpsville; half-brother, Kelly Stacey of Elwood; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-mother who raised him, Katie Sullivan; son, Matt Hobbs, and aunt, Zula Meador.
Funeral services celebrating Terry's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Stan Alvey officiating, and will include a Masonic Memorial Service and military honors provided by the Elwood American Legion Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
