Obituary

Terry A. Kelley , age 82 and a lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Riverview Health Hospital in Noblesville following a sudden illness.  He was born October 11, 1937 in Elwood, the son of Arzie and Irene May (Cox) Kelley.  Terry attended Wendell L. Willkie High School, and immediately enlisted into the U.S. Army.  He married Glenda Skillman on June 23, 1960 and they shared over 49 years of marriage together until her passing in 2010.  Terry worked in production at Delco Remy for over 30 years until retirement.  Terry enjoyed working constantly - working in his yard and tinkering on anything he could get his hands on.  Terry had been mowing several yards for friends and family until just last week.  He was an avid NASCAR fan and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. was his favorite driver.  Terry was an animal lover and loved spending time with his special dog, "Teddy".  He also liked to spend time cooking.  Terry had a true passion for finding ways to help others any way he could.  More than anything, Terry will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Terry's family includes daughter, Lisa (husband John) Connors of Elwood; 2 grandchildren, Natasha (husband Scott) Townsend of Elwood and Josh (wife Jill) Connors of Elwood; 2 great-grandchildren, Luke Townsend and Chase Townsend; 2 brothers, Jack Kelley of Dandridge, TN and Al "Duke" Bannon of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.  Terry was preceded in death by both his parents; wife, Glenda Kelley; 2 brothers, Grover Kelley and Armond Kelley; and sister, Barbara Hodson.

Terry's wishes were to be cremated.  A private burial and committal will take place in Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood where he will be buried beside his wife.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home is honored to handle Terry's final arrangements.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Alternatives of Madison County through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
