Obituary

Stephen D. Thornberry, age 49 of Naples, Florida and formerly of Elwood, passed away in his sleep at his residence in Naples. He was born on October 19, 1966 in Anderson to George and Marilyn (Kohn) Thornberry. Stephen worked as a Electrical Engineer for Arthrex Orthopedics Company in Florida for several years, and also formerly worked at Mazak Manufacturing Company in Florence, KY for 23 years. He graduated in 1985 from Elwood Community High School, and later received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University in 1990.

Early in his life, Steve was baptized at East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood and attended there with his parents. He was an avid Harley Davidson Motorcycle rider, and enjoyed keeping connected with his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time on the water, boating, and water skiing. Steve lived in Erlanger, KY for many years, and enjoyed owning a home there near his family members. He will always be remembered for having an infectious smile and being a friend to everyone he met. More than anything, he treasured his family and adored his two grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his Parents, George W. and Marilyn R. Thornberry of Elwood, IN, 2 Sons, Tyler (wife Christina) Thornberry of Verona, KY and Dylan Thornberry of Elwood, IN, Sister, Ann (husband Ron) Pace of Lafayette, IN, Brother, Mark (wife Elaine) Thornberry of Bowling Green, KY, 2 Grandsons, Tanner and Tatum Thornberry both of Verona, KY, 3 nephews, Josh Murray, Justin Keairns, and Noah Thornberry, and niece, Emily Gaffney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a Sister, Lisa Keairns.

A Life Celebration Memorial Service for Stephen will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ron Becker, former pastor of Main Street Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial of Steve's remains will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2016 prior to the Memorial Service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
