Obituary

Stanley H. Sallee, age 66 of Silver Lake and formerly of Elwood, died unexpectedly April 13, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born March 2, 1945 in Washington County, KY the son of Stanley Lee and Dorothy Mae (Lewis) Sallee. He attended Frankton Schools. He worked in production at Delco Remy in Anderson for 33 years and retired in 1997. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union #662. He enjoyed coon hunting, playing bluegrass music with his sons, and RV traveling. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: Wife of 48 years whom he married September 30, 1963 – Rita M. (Riddle) Sallee; 4 Children – Donna (Nate) Saldana of Kokomo, Stanley J. (Michelle) Sallee of Elwood, Danny (Jennifer) Sallee of Noblesville, and Kenny (Amber) Sallee of Elwood; Brother – Kenneth (Becky) Sallee of Elwood; 2 Sisters – Mary (Sonny) Amos of Elwood and Peggy McElfresh of Elwood; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Brad Moore of the Open Door Church of God officiating. Entombment will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Monday, April 18, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
