Obituary

Shawn Patrick Huston, age 47 of Elwood and formerly of Frankton, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis following multiple health complications and long term kidney dialysis. He was born May 28, 1968 in Elwood, the son of Stephen James and Marcia Elaine (Ellis) Huston. Prior to his health disability, Shawn worked as a concrete contractor for many years throughout the area and truly loved his work. He was a 1988 graduate of Lapel High School where he had been active in baseball and softball sports. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, flea markets, and visiting with friends at the American Legion in Frankton. Shawn was a good loving person; had a great sense of humor; and was always willing to help others. More than anything, he loved his family and his beloved cats that were always by his side. Shawn's family would especially like to thank the staff of St. Vincent Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Shawn.

Shawn's family includes his mother, Marcia E. Cranor of Point Isabel; son, Michael Patrick Huston of Anderson; beloved girlfriend of 24 years, Sarah "Dawn" Smith of Elwood; 2 sisters, Heather (husband Ed) Peavler of Alexandria and Dawn (husband Marty) Young of Point Isabel; brother, Stephen (wife Kim) Huston of Elwood; several nieces and nephews; a great niece; a great nephew; and best friends, John Couch and Kenneth Beeman. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Huston in 1992 and grandparents, George and Georgia Ellis.
