Sharon Kay Young, age 71 of Noblesville and formerly of Elwood, was called home on Friday, May 27, 2016 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born February 24, 1945 in Hartford City, the daughter of William and Maryann (Cline) Dubois. Sharon was formerly employed as a production worker for Tool and Die industries in Frankton and Kennedy Tool and Die in Alexandria; and had also worked at the Elwood Call-Leader newspaper. After earning her high school diploma, she attended Ivy Tech College and studied accounting. She went fishing whenever possible and especially enjoyed playing bingo, often travelling with her sister Pat to Warsaw, Beaver Dam, and other places to play and be with people. Sharon crocheted afaghans; collected Dalmatian figurines, pictures and keepsakes; and enjoyed playing computer games. She was well-liked by all who knew her because of her kind-heartedness and always helping others. Through marriage, Sharon inherited many step-children and was always a devoted mom who inclusively shared her unconditional love with every member of her family. She will be missed more than words can express, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering and has finally found peace and rest in Heaven.
Sharon's family includes 4 daughters, Micheale (husband Doug) Deckard of Florida, Claraice Hyman of New Castle, Peggy Potter of Elwood, and Tonya Hyman (fiancé Tom Laster II) of Noblesville; step-son, Marty (wife Dawn) Young of Point Isabel; one she loved as a daughter, Kate Anderson of Summitville; 4 siblings, Pat Springer of Warsaw, Jerry (wife Lou) DuBois of Arizona, Bill DuBois of Mooresville; and Larry DuBois of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Robert Lamberson; granddaughter, Tosha Deckard; brother-in-law, Ed Springer; and her soul-mate and love of her life, Kenneth E. Anderson.
