Sharon K. Davis , age 83 of Claypool and formerly a longtime resident of Elwood, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 29, 1941 in Elwood, the daughter of George R. and Naomi Ruth (Brown) Hasecuster. Sharon was a 1959 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School and was a member of the French Club. She married the love of her life, Thomas Andrew Davis Jr. on December 24, 1960, and they spent over 54 years of marriage together until his passing in 2015. Sharon was formerly a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church in Elwood. She retired in 2000 from Vectren Gas Company (formerly Indiana Gas Company) after 23 years of service. Sharon also previously worked at First National Bank in Elwood and Essex Wire. She was a loyal member of the Order of Eastern Star and a founding member of the Elwood Panther Den online alumni community. She was active in women's bowling leagues at Wells Lanes for many years. Sharon truly enjoyed her retirement years at Beaver Dam Lake where she spent time with her fur babies; enjoyed fishing; and loved socializing with her neighbors regularly playing cards & dominoes. More than anything, Sharon will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will forever be loved and cherished.
Sharon is survived by 3 sons, Jeffrey S. (Julie) Davis of Noblesville, Todd A. (Lori) Davis of Greentown, and Christopher L. Davis of Elwood; 5 grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Robert Davis, Allison (Andrew) Collins, Tyler (Brittanie) Davis, and Kaylie (Casey) Llewellyn; 7 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Gavin, Brogan, Parker, Naomi, Brynn, and Samson; a great-great-grandchild; Tatum; and several nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Thomas Andew Davis, Jr.; and 2 brothers, Ron "Fuzz" Hasecuster and Wayne "Ed" Hasecuster.
A funeral service celebrating Sharon's life and faith will take place at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor David Stokes officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Elwood City Cemetery in Elwood. The service will begin with an Eastern Star Memorial Ritual. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 5 pm prior to the funeral on Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Wounded Warriors Project through the funeral home. Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
