Obituary

Scott Allen George, age 42, of Elwood, died Sunday, August 5, 2012 surrounded by his family at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness. He was born November 5, 1969 in Elwood, the son of Gary L. "Buddy" George and Patricia K. (Buis) Cast. He was a toolmaker for Chrysler Corporation in in Kokomo for 10 years before retiring in 2009. He was a 1988 graduate of Elwood Community High School. While in high school, he was awarded the John H. Hinds Vocational Award and the Dan Rayshick Award for vocational students in the same year. Scott was a member of the United Auto Workers Union # 1166 in Kokomo. He enjoyed fishing, camping and playing golf. Scott was an avid NASCAR fan and liked driver Rusty Wallace; was a fan of the Chicago Bears; and liked the Chicago Cubs. Scott loved spending time at his kids sporting events and had coached several of their baseball teams through the years. He was a loving and caring father, and his kids were the center of his life.

Survivors include his parents, Gary L. "Buddy" (wife Jenny) George and Patricia K "Patty" (husband Joe) Cast all of Elwood; 2 children, Jasmine K. George of Bloomington and Eric A. George of Alexandria; 2 sisters, Susan R. George of Elwood and Chris C. Jones of Anderson; 4 Step-sisters, Sarah Cast-Sherman, Michelle Cast, Jody Cast, and Jody Humes; step-brother, Steven Kirby; nieces and nephews, Aaron Kane, Mitchell Mullins, Miranda Jones, Dustin Jones, and Sheldon Jones; many special cousins including, Anna Ball, Andy Ball, and Jackie Tiel; and special friends, Tony Edgell and Shawn Loar.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis "Louie" & Christine (Thomas) Buis; and paternal grandparents, Basil and Evelyn (Purcival) George.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. James Snapp of the Curtisville Christian Church officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
