Saundra "Sue" Richardson, age 71 of Elwood, died December 19, 2011 at Hospice of Cincinnati East Center in Cincinnati, Ohio following a brief illness. She was born June 30, 1940 in Elwood - the daughter of Melvin and Florence (Knotts) Burton. She was a medical assistant in the emergency department at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood for 39 years and retired in 2005. She was a 1958 graduate of Frankton High School. She married Robert P. Richardson on December 12, 1970. She formerly attended East Main Street Christian Church in Elwood. Sue enjoyed vacationing in Florida and spending time on the beach; and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: 4 Children – Mark A. Taylor of El Paso, TX, Teresa L. (husband Dean) Prescott of Okeechobee, FL, Jennifer L. Holliday of Elwood, and Robert "Scott" (wife Janet) Richardson of Bethel, OH; Sister – Johanna (husband Leon) Barber of Connersville; Sister-In-Law – Joyce Burton; 8 Grandchildren – Josh Vest, Jared Prescott, Derek Holliday, Shyanne Prescott, Trevor Holliday, Patrick Richardson, Ruthie Richardson, and Macee McGahey; Great-Granddaughter – Faith Vest; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband who died November 26, 2009 – Robert P. Richardson; and Brother - Clifton Burton.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of East Main Street Christian Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood.
