Sandra Kay Minniear, age 68 of Elwood, died February 3, 2013 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born December 18, 1944 in Milford, OH, the daughter of Randy and Merle (Durand) Smith. She was a homemaker most of her life, and formerly worked at Frisch's Restaurant in Anderson, Friendly's Restaurant in Elwood, Fettig's Canning factory, and Pioneer Seed Company. Sandra married Bert William Minniear on October 5, 1969. She enjoyed watching family members play sports; playing bingo; karaoke; riding her son's motorcycle; riding bicycles with her kids; spending time outdoors; and canoeing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Her family includes 5 children, Art Minniear (companion Connie Davidson) both of Elwood, Ronnie (wife Shelley) Minniear of Anderson, Robert Minniear (companion Trish Williams) both of Elwood, Mark Gibson of Ohio, and Tami (husband Chip) Aker of Ohio; 2 brothers, Joe (Linda) Ward of Loveland, OH, Ellis Ward of Loveland, OH; 12 grandchildren, Ashley, Holly, Cory, Shyla, Cheayla, Alicia, Corie, Ashelie, Zack, Bruce, Michael, and Chelsy; 6 great-grandchildren, Jerziah, Drayven, Alonna, Alexia, Zoey, and Kaiden.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 30 years who died December 17, 1999, Bert William Minniear; sister, Janet Dean; great grandson, Ryland Wayne Aker; and special friend and companion, Mark Blankenship.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Keith Himelick officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM on Thursday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
