Sandra Deloris “Sandi” Daugherty, age 75, of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Elwood Health and Living. Born on February 6, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to Donald and Florence (Niehaus) Lytle, Sandi brought grace and beauty to the world from her earliest days. A proud graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, she was raised in the Catholic faith and carried those values with quiet elegance throughout her life.

Sandi’s gentle spirit touched many through her work at beloved local establishments, including Harvest Market in the early 2000s and Hooks Drug Store in the 1980s, before she retired from a career in medical billing. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cherishing her dear little dog, Skye, who survives her, and finding delight in afternoons spent antiquing, exploring Goodwill, or losing herself among the shelves of the Elwood Public Library.

A lover of all things vintage and lovely, Sandi adorned her world with beauty and warmth. Her haven, “Wren’s Cottage,” was a reflection of her refined taste and love for the past. There, with the front door always open, she would watch Turner Classic Movies, surrounded by cherished treasures and the gentle peace she created. Sandi’s elegance, kindness, and appreciation for life’s delicate joys will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Her friends would like to thank the Elwood Hospital staff for all of their kindness during her long stay there. Also a thank you to the staff at Elwood Health and Living for ensuring that her last few days were days with dignity and respect. Your kindness is appreciated.

Sandi’s wishes were to be cremated and have no formal services at this time. In lieu of flowers, her friends ask that donations be made to the Elwood Public Library in honor of her love of reading. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Online condolences and stories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
