Eva "Ruth" Loser, age 94 of Elwood, died Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood after a brief illness. She was born April 30, 1918 in Elwood the daughter of Earle and Mollie (Pace) White. She retired from Indiana Bell Telephone Company (later AT&T) where she worked as a telephone operator for more than 35 years. Ruth was a 1936 graduate of Elwood High School. She married Clarence R. Loser on September 10, 1971. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Elwood. Ruth was a life member of the Pioneer Telephone Retiree's Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, crocheting and recently enjoyed visits from her family members.
Ruth's family includes 3 nieces, Barbara (husband Jan) Chambers of Elwood, Frances "Butch" Warner of Elwood, and Cheryl (husband Bill) Smith of Elwood; special cousins, Eleanor Scott of Anderson and Gwen Garman of Tipton; and special sister-in-law, Evelyn Loser of Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Clarence R. Loser who died March 22, 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday December 22, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Josh Carney of First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday.
