Obituary

Ronald Lee Hasecuster, age 82 and formerly of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021 in a hospice home in Longview, Texas after multiple heath issues.  He was surrounded by his wife, along with his stepson and stepdaughter.  Ron was born in Elwood, Indiana on December 17, 1938, the son of George Robert and Naomi Ruth (Brown) Hasecuster.  He graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1957.  Ron was quite an artist and painted many senior cords.  He also loved fishing and playing pool.  Ron worked for Irvin Vest at Vest Cleaners in Elwood for many years.  He also worked at Heiser Ford, and later purchased The Wonder Bar in Elwood.  Ron left Indiana to drive a semi-truck for a several years, and he ended up settling in Longview, Texas.  He worked as a custodian at Walmart.  Ron then met Linda Van Wagner, and they were married in 2002.

Ron's family includes his wife, Linda Joy Hasecuster of Longview, TX; 2 sons, Michael Hasecuster Brannock and Brian Hasecuster Brannock and families; a stepson and 2 stepdaughters; sister, Sharon K. (Hasecuster) Davis of Claypool; 3 nephews, Jeffrey S. (wife Julie Meschke) Davis, Todd A. Davis, and Christopher L. Davis; several nieces and nephews; several great-great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins in various areas of the country.  Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Edward Hasecuster; brother-in-law, Thomas A. Davis, Jr.; uncle, Paul Richard Hasecuster; and aunt, Joan Manghelli Hasecuster.

Ron's wishes were to be cremated and have no services.  Cremation took place.  Arrangements by Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
