Robin Lee "Robbie" Hill , age 73 of rural Elwood, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024 at his home after a brief illness. He was born April 19, 1951 in Tipton, the son of James Hill and Barbara Cherry. Robbie graduated in 1969 from Tipton High School. He married his soulmate, Gwen Fowler on Aug. 29, 1969, and they shared over 55 years of marriage together. He worked as a truck driver for a total of 40 years, last at Red Gold for 5 years and formerly at State Plating, Inc. for 30 years. Robbie loved fishing and working in his yard in his spare time. He also enjoyed shooting guns, hunting in his younger days, and just having fun. Robbie especially cherished time spent with his grandkids and family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandpa who will be forever missed.
Robbie's family includes his wife, Gwen Hill of Elwood; two sons, Michael Travis Hill of Tipton and James Trevor (Wendi) Hill of Kokomo; two brothers, Dennis Hill and Kevin Hill both of Tipton; 6 grandchildren, Michael "Trey" Hill, Torey Edwards, Darrian Smith, Brooklyn Hooper, Emily Wilburn, and Olivia Hill; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, the Driver Boys. Robbie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robbie Lee Hill; sister, Debra Schuyler; brother, Gary Hill; and grandson, Brenton Hill.
Robbie's wish was to be cremated with no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
