Robert N. "Bob" Rebuck, age 80 of Tacoma, WA and formerly of Elwood, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2012 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA following a very brief illness. He was born August 3, 1931 in Elwood, Indiana the son of Charles E. and Alma R. (Bauer) Rebuck. Bob was the Circulation Director at the Elwood Call-Leader & Elwood Publishing Company for 22 years retiring in 1993. He was a 1949 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood, and also attended the Elwood Bible Baptist Church for several years.
Bob enjoyed fishing, camping, and oil & watercolor painting. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts football fan. In recent years, Bob was a volunteer with Community Home Health Hospice and enjoyed reading scripture to the patients. He also enjoyed visiting shut-ins and nursing home residents. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play in Elwood sports programs.
Survivors include: Wife of 35 years whom he married September 25, 1976 - Kathy J. (Stafford) Rebuck of Tacoma, WA; Son – Neal A. Rebuck and companion Velia Flores both of El Paso, TX; 2 Daughters – Rae Ann Goens and companion Jack Glotzbach of Elwood and Leslie Marie (husband Dale) Mills of Indianapolis; Step-Daughter – Jennifer Dixon of Indianapolis; Brother – Thomas C. Rebuck of Alexandria; 7 Grandchildren – Mike Goens of Elwood, Cleo Mills and Jude Mills both of Indianapolis, Trenton Robert (wife Dianna) Harris of Indianapolis, Mckenzie Michelle Harris of Indianapolis, Samuel Harris of Tacoma, WA, and Sadie Ann Sikora of Indianapolis; Great-Granddaughter – Haylie Harris of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews; and beloved pets – Joe, Miguel, and Rocky.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Sister - Emma Jean Rubush; and Step-Daughter – Charlotte Ann Sikora.
A memorial service will take place at 6:00 PM Friday May 4, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Ronald Steege of the Elwood Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM Friday May 4, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
