Robert Lee "Bob" McClintock, Jr. , age 82 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at Elwood Health & Living after a brief illness. He was born June 9, 1941 in Anderson, the son of Robert Lee McClintock, Sr. and Dorothy (Hinchman) McClintock. Bob was a 1960 graduate of Madison Heights High School in Anderson before starting work for General Motors. He worked as a supervisor for Guide Lamp in Anderson for 43 years and retired in 1995. Bob married Barbara Jo (Downham) on January 1, 1979, and they shared over 43 years of marriage together raising their blended family.
Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elwood. Bob played men's softball in his younger years, and he also enjoyed skeet shooting. He was an avid knife collector. After retirement, Bob and Barbara built a home in Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived for 28 years before returning to Indiana. Bob especially enjoyed watching football games. More than anything, he absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends. His family is comforted knowing he has been reunited with Barbara in Heaven.
Bob's family legacy includes 6 children, Lori Archer of Indianapolis, Robert "Bobby" McClintock III of Anderson, Susan Dunaway of Elwood, Debbie (Henry) Lemba of Florida, Tammy (Tom) Grondin of Elwood, and David (Debbie) Carper of Las Vegas, NV; 2 siblings, James McClintock of Indianapolis and Gigi Steele of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Tyler (James) Archer, T.J. (Abbey) Grondin, Jillian (Chris) Shelton, Sailina (Ryan) Hinrichs, Darla Carper, Amanda Carper, Krista (Brent) Scott, and Joseph (Emily) Grondin; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 2 siblings, Judith Griner and Doug McClintock; and 2 sons-in-law, Tim Archer and Daniel Dunaway.
Cremation will take place. Private graveside services will take place at the Elwood City Cemetery with Father Dennis Goth presiding at a later date. Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
