Obituary

Robert Francis Eller, age 73 of Elwood, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Community Heart Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness. Known to friends and family as "Bob" or "Frankie". Born March 24, 1952, in Elwood to Robert P. and Lois (Cox) Eller, Bob grew up with a strong work ethic and an even stronger sense of loyalty. He graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1970, then married the love of his life, Susan K. Bouslog, on June 23, 1973. Their 46 years together were built on devotion, loyalty, and family, until her passing in 2020.

Bob made his living as a tool and die maker and later as a courier, putting in long days and always doing the job right. Outside of work, Bob was most at home in the outdoors—fishing, camping, and hunting for treasures to add to his many collections. He had a knack for recording his favorite TV shows (sometimes three at a time) and never missed a game cheering for the Notre Dame Irish, Indianapolis Colts, or Chicago Cubs. Bob enjoyed bowling on numerous leagues at Lucky Strike and Wells Lanes, and he had an eye for photography, always chasing the perfect shot.

Bob could strike up a conversation with anyone, and he had a special gift for making people laugh with his quick wit and big-hearted stories. Above all, he was a man who loved deeply—his friends, his family, and especially his late wife, Susan. Bob's family finds comfort knowing that this good, strong man is reunited with the love of his life in Heaven.

Bob is survived by his 2 sons, Jason (Jennifer) Eller of Sharpsville, and Josh (Ariane) Eller of Elwood; brother, Tony Eller of Elwood; 10 grandchildren, Caleb (Emily) Duncan-Eller, Mackenzi Eller, Kendra Eller, Chloe Eller, Caden Eller, Ephraim Eller, Deitric Johnson, Aidan Johnson, Olivia Johnson, and Madisyn Doan; 2 great-grandchildren, Maverick Duncan, and Stetson Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Susan K. Eller.

A funeral service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner of Heritage Christian Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Elwood City Cemetery.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  To honor Bob's love of sports, the family asks that everyone attending wear their favorite sports attire.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Morrisett Food Pantry through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
