Rick A. Wisler, age 67 of Elwood, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at AMG Specialty Hospital at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following a brief illness. He was born January 9, 1947 in Evansville, the son of Charles Wisler and Joan (Jackson) Wisler-Smith. Rick was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years and retired in October of 2013. He also formerly worked at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo and Continental Can Corporation in Elwood. He was a 1965 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School, and later served his country in the U.S. Army. He married "the love of his life", Lois A. (Greenlee) on March 18, 1972, and they shared 42 years of marriage together. Although his work was demanding, in his free time he enjoyed working on old cars and formerly enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.

Rick's family includes his wife, Lois A. (Greenlee) Wisler of Elwood; 2 step-children, William "Bill" (wife Joy) Fowler of Elwood and Susie Sizelove of Pendleton; 2 grandchildren, Keisha Brannen and Elton Sizelove; 2 brothers-in-law, George (wife Jo) Greenlee of Elwood and Jim (wife Bonnie) Greenlee of Arkansas; mother-in-law, Georgia England of Elwood; and numerous cousins. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Larry Schimmel officiating and will include military honors by the Elwood V.F.W. Post #5782. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the funeral on Saturday at the funeral home.
