Regena Dye , age 94 of Tipton and formerly of Elwood, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton following full well-lived life. She was born October 21, 1925 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of James Steven and Ester Emaline Marie (Neddermyer) Brown. Regena was a 1943 graduate of Fort Dodge High School in Iowa. She married the love of her life, Clem Dye on April 24, 1946, and they shared over 61 years of marriage together until his passing in 2007. Regena worked in sales at Palmer's Jewelers in Kokomo with her husband for over 15 years until she retired in 2004. She also previously worked at Leeson's Department Store in Elwood for over 10 years until the business closed. Regena was a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elwood where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Regena enjoyed cooking family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed being able to work alongside her husband at the jewelry store. Regena liked taking trips back to Iowa to visit with her large family. More than anything, Regena loved to be with her family and worship the Lord.
Regena's family includes 2 daughters, Wanda (husband Michael) Bohlander of Alexandria and Joyce Roberts of Elwood; brother, Richard Brown of Iowa; 6 grandchildren, Dawn (husband Dutch) Parish of Alexandria, Rachel Cole of Elwood, David Nelson of Alexandria, Matthew Dye of Indianapolis, Michael Dye of Indianapolis, and Jason Dye of Ohio; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Regena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clem Dye; 2 sons, James Thomas Dye and Jack Dye; 6 brothers, George Brown, Howard Brown, Chester Brown, Donald Brown, Robert Brown, Arthur Brown, and Calvin Brown; sister, Ann Thomas; and 4 grandchildren, Michelle Bohlander, Amanda Bohlander, Joshua Bohlander, and Michael Bohlander, II.
Services will be private due to the health restrictions on public gatherings. A private funeral service celebrating Regena's life will be held on Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Kal Rissman of the St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood. There will be no public visitation.
