Rebecca Jean "Becky" (Cloud) Haneline, age 73 of Anderson and a former longtime resident of Elwood, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis following a sudden illness. She was born September 16, 1943 in Anderson, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Davis) Cloud. Becky was a 1962 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood, and later married Anthony "Tony" Haneline on August 4, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Elwood. Becky last worked as a substitute teacher at Edgewood Elementary School, and formerly worked at the Marsh Supermarket Deli in Elwood for many years. She also owned and operated Becky's Ceramics in Elwood for many years. Becky was devoted to caring for her family and her home, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her Yellow Creek Lake home. She enjoyed crocheting, and sold many of her items at local craft shows. Becky and Tony formerly were active in a local CB club for many years. She also formerly bowled in several Elwood leagues, and authored a regular column entitled "The Hanging Basket" in the Elwood Call-Leader newspaper. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Becky's surviving family includes her husband of over 54 years, Anthony "Tony" Haneline of Anderson; daughter, April Simpson (companion Chris Sagarsee) both of Pendleton; son, Tyler Haneline of Anderson; 5 grandchildren, Whitney Haneline, Zack Robertson, Jon Wright, Quentin Simpson, and Kyndal Sagarsee; 2 great-granchildren, Jayden Brock and Zaine Wright; 3 sisters, Linda Jones of Alexandria, Carolyn French of Elwood, and Jacalyn Brown of Manhatten, NY; uncle, Curt (wife Margaret) Davis of Elwood; aunt, Bunny Bennett of Anderson; brother-in-law, Dorrell (wife Catherine) Haneline of Florida; sister-in-law, Marna (husband Mike) Clouser of Beaver Dam; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kim Haneline in 2008; and grandson, Joshua Haneline in 2007.
Funeral services celebrating Becky's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rich Leavell officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Haneline Grandchildren College Fund through the funeral home. Online expression of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
