Obituary

Raymond H. Frazee, age 96 of Windfall, passed away on Thursday September 14, 2017 at I.U. Health - Tipton Hospital in Tipton following a brief illness and a long, well-lived life.  He was born on July 20, 1921 in Tipton County, the son of Arlie D. and Margaret Julia "Lilly" (Busch) Frazee.  Raymond was a farmer all of his life in the Curtisville area, and finally retired in 2016 after 70 years in farming.  Ray attended Windfall schools, and later served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was proud to have served in the 957 th HAM (Heavy Auto Maintenance) division in Normandy just after the D-Day battle, and also at the Battle of the Bulge.  Ray married Carmen "Roberta" VanHorn on February 28, 1942, and they shared over 75 years of marriage together.  In his later years, he enjoyed attending Army reunions with his former division members.  Ray attended the Windfall United Methodist Church for many years, and was a member of the Tipton American Legion.  More than anything, Ray loved everything about farming and his family.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Raymond's family includes his beloved wife, Roberta of Windfall; 4 children, Ferril (husband Mark) Coffin of Windfall, Peggy Landseadel of Windfall, Joyce Cloud of Kokomo, and Jane (husband Chet) Seybert of Kokomo; 12 grandchildren, Laura (Ken) Blackburn, Linda (David) Randall, Chad Coffin, Jeff (Sherry) Landseadel, Jenny Landseadel, Joel (Rachel) Sallee, Erica (Justin) Spencer, Brandon (Carrie) Cloud, Adam (Grace) Cloud, Mike (Chantel) VanNess, John (Mandy) VanNess, and Chris (Kathy) Seybert; 21 great-grandchildren, Luke Blackburn, Rebecca Blackburn, Mitchell Randall, Kelly Randall, Payton (Kacey) Dick, Derek Landseadel, Gracie Cloud, Lillian Cloud, Claire Cloud, Connor Sallee, Jessica Sallee, Michaela Spencer, Emma Spencer, Jake Jones, Kiley VanNess, Dane Homler, Lola Homler, Allison VanNess, Jack Seybert, Nick Seybert, and Will Seybert; and several nieces and nephews.  Ray was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Pauline Hinds, Rosella Fernung, and Hazel Crouch-Elston; son-in-law, Jack Cloud, and granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Landseadel.

A funeral service celebrating Raymond's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September19, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastors Chris Ellis and Dennis Lafferty officiating.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall where military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and Elwood V.F.W. Honor Guard.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Windfall United Methodist Church, Wildcat Township Fire Department, or the Tipton American Legion through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
