Racquel N. Eldridge , age 44 of Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.  She was born October 16, 1974 in Elwood, the daughter of Jasper "Neal" and Barbara (Cloud) Gwinn.  She was a graduate of Elwood High School.  Racquel also completed training as a Certified Nurse's Assistant and cared for residents at Dickey Nursing Home in Elwood until its closing.  She liked to explore life, and was very adventurous and free spirited.  Racquel was known for being very resourceful, and she never knew a stranger.  In her own unassuming way, she enjoyed observing people and lived a quiet and contented lifestyle.  Growing up, she was always the happiest child and kept her Christian faith throughout her life.  Racquel was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Racquel's family includes 3 children, Kayla Short of Elwood, Kelsey Jarrell of Anderson, and Kyle Jarrell of Elwood; 3 sisters, Ginger (husband David) Nelson of Anderson, Shelly (husband Jeffrey) Burger of Frankton, and Rachel Gwinn of Elwood; brother, Greg (wife Diana) Gwinn of Alexandria; 4 grandchildren, Connor, Kenneth, Aurora and Boston; special cousin, Geneva Lane; and several nieces and nephews.  Racquel was preceded in death by her mother and her grandmother Anna Cornwell.

Cremation was chosen with a memorial service celebrating Racquel's life to be conducted at a later date.  Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for Racquel's cremation arrangements.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
