Obituary

Ramona S. "Mona" Morrisett , age 81 of Tipton and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025 at The Waters in Tipton after an unexpected illness.  She was born Feb. 21, 1943 in Elwood, the daughter of Norvill C. "Tom" and Wanda F. (Niccum) Coe.  Mona attended Elwood Schools with the class of 1961.  She was a devoted homemaker while raising her children, and she later worked at Firestone Corporation in Noblesville for many years.  Mona last worked as assistant director and van driver for the Tipton Work Enterprise program where she enjoyed interaction with everyone.  She married Kenny R. Morrisett on Oct. 24, 2015, and they shared 6 years of marriage together before his passing in 2021.

Mona was a longtime member of the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood.  She enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, socializing with friends and family, cooking for her family, and crocheting.  More than anything, Mona loved spoiling and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.  Mona will be remembered for her smile and devotion to her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Mona's family includes 5 children, Kim Cardwell of West Lafayette, Chris (Jill) Biggs of Illinois, twins - Amanda Morrisett and Rayann Morrisett both of Tipton, and Josh (Stephanie) Morrisett of Frankfort; 7 grandchildren, Kirsten (Adam), Chelsea, Jacob (Brianda), Alicia, Nicholas, Evan, and Mac; 6 great-grandchildren, Henry, Kensington, Lucy, Naomi, Wyatt, and Iliana; and special nieces, Karen Leeson, Cheryl Abbott, and Teresa Beeman.  Mona was preceded in death by her parents; 8 siblings, Wanda Sheffer, Barbara Jean Rogers, Tommy Coe, Charles "Bud" Coe, Delores Watson, Diane Christian, Rhonda Kelly, and Carlos "Don" Coe.

A funeral service celebrating Mona's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Cary Sanders of Central Wesleyan Church officiating.  Burial will follow in Phlox Cemetery in Howard County.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12 to 2 pm prior to the funeral on Thursday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
