Phyllis Lynn Runyan, age 45 of Elwood, died unexpectedly Sunday March 18, 2012 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Elwood. She was born September 30, 1966 in Elwood the daughter of Ronnie J. Fite and Mary (Brooks) Callaway. Phyllis was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Elwood Community High School. She married Jerald L. Runyan on August 20, 1998. Phyllis enjoyed camping and fishing. She liked to read and crochet, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include mother, Mary (Brooks) and husband Danny Callaway of Elwood; husband of nearly 14 years, Jerald L. Runyan of Elwood; daughter, Amber D. Galley of Alexandria; son, Daniel J. Yeagley of Elwood; 2 step-daughters, Kayla S. Runyan of Marion and Amber L. Runyan of Elwood; 2 grandchildren, Shane E. Galley and Gwendolyn J. Galley; 2 step-grandchildren, Emily Runyan and Bentley Runyan; 2 step-brothers, Larry Groover Jr. and Randy Groover; step-sister, Cassandra Callaway; mother-in-law, Cindy and husband Brett Wightman; sister-in-law, Racheal Delaplane; and nephew, Koby Delaplane; and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie J. Fite; her adopted father, Larry Groover Sr.; and her grandparents, Edmond and Elsie Brooks.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Stan Alvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home.
