Obituary

Perry "Tim" Johnson , age 64 of Windfall, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 surrounded by his family in Sharpsville after a brief illness.  He was born Nov. 30, 1959 in Tipton, the son of Bruce W. and Patty (Blessing) Johnson.  Tim was a 1978 graduate of Tri-Central High School and enjoyed playing high school football.  He was involved in agriculture since he was a young boy, working for his "Pops" on the farm and later as a truck driver and fertilizer applicator.  Tim worked for Helena Ag Services (formerly Hartley Grain Company) for many years.  Tim married Patti L. Frazier on March 4, 1995, and they shared over 28 years of marriage together.  He was a member of Abundant Life Church in Kokomo and was a football coach with Tri-Central High School for 24 years.

Tim was active in Tipton County 4-H with his children and later served as the superintendent at the beef barn for several years.  He enjoyed working with cattle and enjoyed showing his prize heifer, "Miss Marcie" nationally, and she won national championships.  He was a member of USTA and Indiana Standardbred Association.  Tim loved horses and was a driver and trainer for standard-bred horses for many years.  He had a dream come true by owning a race horse, "Lady" EQ's Lady Desire, who eventually won the Governor's Cup Championship in the 2-year old Filly.  Tim loved watching football all the time, and he especially loved watching his granddaughters play softball.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family very much.

Tim's family includes his wife, Patti Johnson of Windfall; 2 sons, Blake (Amber) Johnson of Elwood, and Brandan Johnson (Kelly Lambert) of Sharpsville; 2 grandchildren, Alli Johnson and Abbi Johnson both of Elwood; 3 siblings, Cathy (Walt) Castor of Kokomo, Rodney (Connie) Johnson of Windfall, and Susie (Jeff) McCorkle of Windfall; mother-in-law, Linda Frazier of Sharpsville; 2 brothers-in-law, Butch (Tricia) Frazier of Kokomo and Brian (Nikki) Frazier of Sheridan; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.  Tim was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Lewis Frazier; grandparents, Gyp and Irene Blessing and Harold and Marjorie Johnson; niece, Summer McCorkle; and nephew, Kip Castor.

A funeral service celebrating Tim's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024 at Abundant Life Church in Kokomo with Dustin Smith officiating.  Burial will follow the service in Brookside Cemetery in Windfall.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3 to 7 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Abundant Life Church in Kokomo.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Tipton County Foundation through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
