Patricia Lou "Pat" Cooper, age 80 of Curtisville and Elwood, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence.  She was born March 18, 1936 in Elwood, the daughter of Rex and Irene Cooper.  Pat worked in production for Ex-Cello Corporation in Elwood for several years.  She was a 1954 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School.  Pat attended the First United Methodist Church in Elwood nearly all of her life, and seldom missed a church function.  She was a private person, but enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, and taking care of her large country property.  Pat especially loved learning about history and collecting books.

Pat's family includes 2 daughters, Betty (husband Ray) Burton of Tipton, and Sandy Leisure of Kokomo; 6 grandchildren, Brooke Rodriguez, Megan Moss, Brittany Rodriguez, David Burton, Colton Burton, and Ashleigh Burton; 2 great-grandchildren, Levi Johnson, and Maddison Burton; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 half-brothers, George Justus and Robert Justus.

A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Bill Johnston officiating.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Elwood City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, 1500 North A Street, Elwood or through the funeral home.  Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
