Patricia K. "Patty" Cast, age 70 of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 at her residence following a short battle with cancer.  Patty was born June 13, 1947 in Edinburgh, the daughter of Louis "Louie" and Christine (Thomas) Buis.  She was a 1965 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School.  Patty retired in 2012 from Kroger grocery store in Noblesville after 17 years as food service manager.  She also formerly worked at State Plating Co. in Elwood for over 20 years as a fork truck driver.  Patty married Joseph A. "Joe" Cast on December 20, 1986, and they have shared over 30 years of marriage together.  She was saved and baptized in 2017 at the Curtisville Christian Church by Rev. James Snapp.  Patty enjoyed NASCAR racing, and Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver.  She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with Joe; going to garage sales; and shopping at Goodwill for bargains.  She also had a special love of animals.  More than anything, Patty's family was her whole world, and she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her husband, children, and beloved grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patty's family includes her husband, Joseph A. Cast of Elwood; 2 daughters, Susan George of Elwood and Christine (husband Troy) Dellinger of Anderson; 3 step-children, Sarah (husband Kyle) Sherman of Elwood, Jody (husband Micah) Carroll of Tennessee, and Michelle Steen of Crawfordsville; 6 siblings, Shirley Paschal of Arizona, Robert Buis of North Carolina, Linda  (husband Danny) Murdock of Columbus, Donnie (Vickie) Buis of Elwood, Sandy (husband Brian) Abbott of Elwood, and Pam Buis of Elwood; 7 grandchildren, Aaron Kane, Mitchell Mullins, Sheldyn Mylar, Miranda Metzer, Dustin Jones, Jasmine George, and Eric George; 13 step-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sherman, Pierson Cast, Chloe Paul, Stephanie Oresik, Zack Trobaugh, Brandon Trobaugh, Shayla Oresik, Christy Oresik, Makayla Oresik, Haylee Oresik, Alexis Steen, Keegan Steen, and Kaiden Steen; 8 great-grandchildren; special friend, Crystal Kontos; special sister-in-law, Anna Humphrey; and several nieces and nephews.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Allen George in 2012; 2 grandsons, Matthew Oresik and Infant Brandon Bryan; 2 brothers, Ronnie Buis and Infant Louis Buis, Jr.; and a beloved dog, Abby.
