Norma JoAnn Steinhall , age 92 of Valdosta, Georgia and formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Aug. 15, 2024 at Pruitt Health-Holly Hill Nursing Center in Valdosta after an extended illness.  She was born March 19, 1932 in Muncie, the daughter of Ralph and Wilma (Pittenger) Stewart.  JoAnn was a franchise owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics in Anderson for 30 years before selling her business.  She married Clarence L. Steinhall in 1984, and they shared 20 years together before his passing in 2004.  JoAnn and Clarence formerly attended the Tri-County Christian Church in Middletown where she was still a very active member.  She was also formerly a member of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) and was president of the Alpha Charter Chapter Anderson in Madison County where she was also ABWA Woman of the Year.  She was very involved in the West Baden Hotel Historical Society.  JoAnn especially enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing puzzles with her grandchildren

JoAnn's family includes 3 children, John (Angela) Haddin of Georgia, Randy (Luann) Haddin of New Castle, and Annette (Monte) Waymire of Fairmount; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clarence.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024 at Tri-County Christian Church, 8660 N. Mechanicsburg Road, Middletown, IN 47356.  Burial will take place privately at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie at a later date.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Madison County Humane Society to honor Norma's love of animals.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
