Neal F. Cornwell, age 72 of Elwood died April 21, 2011 at the home of his daughter in Elwood. He was born May 5, 1938 the son of Benjamin and Alice L. (Luse) Cornwell. He married Ethel M. Vandiver on April 20, 1957. He worked in production at Continental Can Corporation for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He also worked at Monsanto Corporation in Windfall for 10 years. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Brenda (Bob) Blunck of Elwood, and Tracie McCrary of Pendleton; Brother – Jack L. Cornwell of Blackfoot, ID; 10 Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: Parents; Wife who died May 13, 2004 – Ethel M. (Vandiver) Cornwell; Son - Jeff Cornwell; 3 Brothers – Robert Cornwell, Donald Cornwell, and James Cornwell; and 2 Granddaughters – Jessica and Jasmine Cornwell.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Elder Jack Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
