Nancy L. Twiford , age 83 of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at her home following a brief illness.  She was born Feb. 1, 1941 in Anderson, the daughter of James A. and Ruth P. (Jones) Mraz.  Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School.  She married her soul mate, William M. "Bill" Twiford on May 12, 1960, and they shared nearly 60 years of marriage together before his passing in 2023.  Nancy and Bill formerly attended Main Street Wesleyan Church in Elwood.

Nancy was a devoted homemaker most of her life and later operated a daycare business in her home for seven years.  She absolutely loved spending time with children.  She also enjoyed garage sales and flea markets; cooking; and watching HGTV.  More than anything, Nancy loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with her family.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Nancy's family includes 5 children, Dale (Cheryl) Twiford of Tipton, Bobbye Twiford of Elwood, Edward Twiford of Elwood, Lisa Twiford of Elwood, and Deborah Copher of Elwood; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Twiford; brother, Gary Mraz; and son-in-law, Thomas Copher.
