Obituary

Nancy Sue Sexton , age 74 of Mentone and formerly of Elwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.  She was born May 19, 1950 in New Castle, the daughter of Floyd and Delores L. (Pring) Wehrly.  Nancy attended Chrysler High School in New Castle.  She worked many years at Service Materials Co. in Elwood where she made safety products.  Nancy married Lee Guy Sexton on June 14, 1995.  Nancy had a very strong faith and previously attended Grace Baptist Church in Elwood.  She always had a love for animals and enjoyed sitting outside feeding the birds and squirrels.  Nancy especially liked to go shopping to buy little trinkets and gifts for those she loved.  She enjoyed solving word searches, working her Rubix Cube, and assembling puzzles.  Nancy also loved to crochet and make people their own blankets.  More than anything, Nancy will be remembered for the love she showed for her family.

Nancy Sue's family includes her husband, Lee Guy Sexton of Mentone; 3 step-children, Lisa (Scott) Manship of Noblesville, Laura (Alan) Artale of Fishers, and Leland (Meriah) Sexton of Elwood; 7 siblings, Jimmy Wehrly of Anderson, Steven (Lonita) Wehrly of Anderson, William "Jr." Wehrly of Straughn, Richie (Angie) Hinchman of Jeffersonville, Charlie Hinchman of Beech Grove, Paula (Jon) Cronk of New Castle, and Vickie (Mike) Adams of Muncie; brother-in-law, Dave Ross of Groveland, FL; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Nancy Sue was preceded in death by her parents; step-son, Anthony Sexton; sister, Lorraine Ross; and sister-in-law, Beth Wehrly.

A funeral service celebrating Nancy's life will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions are suggested to the Burket Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
