Nancy J. Pedro age 77 of Frankton, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on September 1, 1939 in Elwood, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Benedict) Hocker. Nancy was a homemaker all of her life, and was devoted to caring for her children and family. She was a 1957 graduate of Wendell L. Willkie High School in Elwood and later married Lawrence "Larry" Pedro on September 11, 1960. They shared over 55 years of marriage together before his passing in 2015. Nancy was an avid Colts fan, and enjoyed bowling with her league for over 20 years. She enjoyed crocheting, and had made numerous afghans for many people over the years. Most of all, she loved spending time with all her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Nancy's family includes 2 sons, Tim (wife Kathy) Pedro of Ft. Wayne, and Joe (wife Cindy) Pedro of Schaumburg, IL; daughter, Lora (husband Jeff) Cooper of Anderson; 12 grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Becky, Joe, Jon, Hannah, Kyle, Cory, Ross, Austin, Zachary, and Logan; 3 brothers, John (wife Barbara) Hocker, Jerry (wife Bonnie) Hocker, and Larry (wife Sharon) Hocker; sister, Linda (husband Mike) Hardin; aunt, Betty Dobbin; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence "Larry" Pedro; sister, Margaret Muston; and granddaughter, Madison.
A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church, 1500 North A Street, Elwood with Rev. Doug Bohall officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Elwood City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be graciously made to the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Online expressions of condolence may be made at copherfeslermay.com.
