Obituary

Nancy N. Hinshaw, age 68 and lifelong resident of Elwood, passed away early on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood following many years of health challenges. She was born August 3, 1949 in Elwood, the daughter of O. E. "Gene" and Mary Anna (Perry) Hinshaw. Nancy was a 1967 graduate of Wendell Willkie High School, and later graduated from Cincinnati Business College. Nancy was a homemaker all of her life, and also was dedicated to caring for her mother for many years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Elwood where her family had a long history with the church. Nancy was an avid Indianapolis 500 Race fan, Indianapolis Colts fan, and enjoyed watching NASCAR races – especially her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Having lived at Community Parkview for many years, Nancy loved to spend time working puzzle books, playing bingo, and attending worship services at the facility. She especially enjoyed visits from Rev. Roger Gardner and other members of East Main Street Christian Church in recent years.

Nancy's extended family would like to thank the staff of Community Parkview Care Center for the wonderful care they provided for Nancy for so many years.  Their kindness and care will not be forgotten.

Nancy is survived by her lifelong friends and extended family, Jim Cole of Elwood, Marcy (husband Mel) Fry of Elwood, Troy (wife Leah) Robertson of Fishers, Kaylie (husband Jason) Phillips of Elwood, Marjorie (husband Mark) Morgan of Tipton, Sophia Morgan, Nate Morgan, and Marty (wife Stephanie) Cole of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Hinshaw in 2008; half-sister, Betty Fields; and longtime friend, Beth Cole in 2016.

A funeral service celebrating Nancy's life will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev.
